Description
A great opportunity to buy a VINYL LP from the 70's by the French band Zoo called "Zoo".
This is their first album and was originally recognized as one of the earliest French rock records. It consists of a powerful collection of largely instrumental jazz-blues-rock tracks with strong psychedelic and funk influences with electric guitars, hammond organ, electric violin, saxophone parts being backed by a very busy rhythm section and strong vocals.
This is a U.S.A. pressing released in 1970 on the Mercury label (SR-61300). It has a total of 8 tracks (see photos for track listings).
The matrix numbers are:- SR-61300-A-M1 (side 1) and SR-61300-B-M1 (side 2).
The vinyl is in a clean and shiny EXCELLENT condition. I always examine and grade records under a bright table lamp and there are a few light surface marks noticeable, but nothing serious. I have played the whole of both sides and apart from the occasional clicks, they play fine and sound great.
The labels are clean and free from any writing or major defects. There is hardly a spindle mark evident when tilted towards the light.
The record is perfectly flat and has no warps of any description.
The record is housed within a plain white inner sleeve in an EXCELLENT condition.
The gatefold picture cover is in a VERY GOOD condition. The spine and edges are very strong, but there is just some minor shelf wear on the top edge (see photo). At some stage in its life, a strip of sellotape has been used to protect that edge. The gatefold on the inside is free from damage or writing.
This is a rare and collectable Progressive Rock / Funk album and should be of interest to avid collectors.
