Seven original 16-inch transcription discs of the children's adventure serial "Zoom Sky Patrol." According to the March 6, 1948 issue of Billboard this series originated from station KEX in Portland, Oregon, and was sponsored by Zoom instant whole wheat cereal, a product of the Fisher Flouring Mills of Seattle. The discs here originally came from KBMY in Billings, Montana. "Zoom Sky Patrol" was interesting in that the show provided actual flight lessons as a part of the story. These seven discs contain eight 15-minute episodes (1-4, 11, 14, 32 & 41), mostly one episode per disc, but one disc includes two episodes. I can't find documentary evidence online for this series aside from the mention in Billboard, and it is not in any of the printed sources that I checked. These discs may be the only surviving copies! For the most part, the condition is exceptional, with virtually no signs of use. One disc seems to have some mold damage that causes some moderate surface noise, but the record plays through without problem. The laminate has cracked on one disc and that causes some tracking problems for the first minute and a half of the episode, but is fine thereafter.
Unfortunately these discs are heavy and fragile, and it will be expensive to mail them. My first choice will be media mail, but other options are available upon request.
