Up for bids is a rare, great mono Jazz LP by the Zoot Sims Quartet called "Zoot". Argo Records. LP-608. 1957.RARE ORIGINAL 1ST PRESSING ON THE BLACK/DARK-GREY LABELS!
DEEP GROOVE PRESSING!
This might be a flat-edged pressing. Record's edges are so slightly raised at the very rim.Front of cover is laminated.
Comes with original plain white inner sleeve in VG+ condition.
NOTE:
The grades I use are Mint (rarely used grade), Near Mint, VG+++ (rarely used grade), VG++, VG+, VG, VG Minus, Good+, Good, Fair and Poor.
Cover is in VG condition. Front is really nice with some light wear. Back of cover has some wear and browning. Back also has a small tear above the top-left "ARGO 608". Top of cover from the spine to center has a 6 5/8" split, then stops, then top corner at opening has a 1 3/4" split. Bottom corner at opening has 3/4" of artwork missing but is not split yet. This is still a really nice looking example of this cover!
I would rate the record’s condition as VG+. Looks really nice with some visual superficial marks that do not affect play. One small scratch at beginning of Side 2 does not last too long. Minor surface noise during and between tracks, but not too much wear at all. Record stills sounds great on my player!
Makes a great gift for any Zoot Sims fan!
