Description
For sale - from my personal collection - the following LP of jazz music by THE ZOOT SIMS QUINTET, titled:
"ZOOT!"
original 1956 pressing on Riverside Records RLP 12-228, MONO, made in USA. Original plastic inner sleeve.
A Bill Grauer Productions - 418 West 49th Street, New York 19, N.Y.
CONDITION:
- front cover is Exc. (having: some light overall shelf wear over the laminated folio; bottom right corner a little touched-pushed)
- back cover is Exc. (having some light overall wear and scattered discoloration spots showing the time)
- vinyl is close to NM side one (having two very light surface marks, almost imperceptible) and NM side two (visual grading)
SPECIAL REMARKS:
- the upper edge was repaired and reinforced with invisible tape about two inches long near the right corner (not a good job; the buyer might want to redo the job in a proper way); I bought the album like this from the original family owner
- handwritten price entered near the upper left corner back (in pencil)
Featuring Zoot Sims (alto and tenor saxes, leader), Nick Travis (trumpet), Wilbur Ware (bass), Osie Johnson (drums), George Handy (piano and arranger).
7 tracks, studio recordings (New York, December 13 and 18, 1956).
Superb jazz music - cool sub-genre. A masterpiece jazz album and a rare collectible LP. Highly recommended!
