SETTLE IN FOR A LONG RUN OF COLLECTABLE LPs OF VARIOUS MUSICALS STYLES. This is a reasonably priced ORIGINAL 1957 RIVERSIDE RECORDS U.S. PRESS MONO LP titled 'Zoot!' containing seven extended tracks from jazz tenor sax man Zoot Sims with combo. It is Riverside Records catalog number RLP 12-228, deep groove heavy vinyl pressing, blue labels with silver print, microphone and reels logo. THIS IS A 1957 U.S. RIVERSIDE ORIGINAL, NOT A RECENT REISSUE. Personnel: Jack 'Zoot' Sims-alto & tenor sax, Nick Travis-trumpet / GEorge Handy-piano & arranger / Wilbur Ware-bass / Osie Johnson-drums. This album was recorded in New York on December 13 & 18, 1956. Tracks: Why Cry? Echoes Of You, Swim Jim, Here And Now, Fools Rush In, Osmosis, Taking A Chance On Love. Condition of record is a real nice high VG++ with just a few very light visible surface and sleeve marks which only show up under strong light, cannot be felt, and do not affect play. Labels have no problems. Condition of cover is VG with a 6" split in the right side of the top edge (I have carefully and neatly repaired this split by taping from the inside), some flaking along the spine, some wear along the edges of the back cover slick, some contact wear, and some wear along the edges and on the corners. Cover has no tears, stickers, or writing. The original glassine inner sleeve is also present and included and is in nice shape, I have placed the record in a paper inner sleeve in order to avoid any damage to the original glassine inner sleeve. This LP would be a choice addition to any jazz LP record collection!
