Album Notes
ZZ Top: Billy Gibbons (vocals, guitar); Dusty Hill (vocals, bass); Frank Beard (drums, percussion). This is ZZ Top's tenth album. Limited to 15,000 copies. .ZZ Top: Billy Gibbons (vocals, guitar); Dusty Hill (vocals, bass); Frank Beard (drums, percussion).Personnel: Billy Gibbons (vocals, guitar); Dusty Hill (vocals); Frank Beard (drums, percussion).Recording information: Memphis Sound Productions, Memphis, TN.ZZ Top entered the '90s with what was billed as a back-to-basics release, 1990's RECYCLER, five years after its previous album. The trio abandoned the Top 40, platinum-paved path it had followed on such 1980's mega-hits as ELIMINATOR and AFTERBURNER, to return to the blues rock boogie that had made it one of rock's finest outfits. While there were still synths sprinkled here and there (though nothing as severe as its '80s output), there's no denying the greatness of the big rockers "My Head's in Mississippi," and "Doubleback," which was featured in the Michael J. Fox movie "Back to the Future Part III."
