Description
GEORGE KAISON Indaba Kawena/Babalaza South African Trutone YZ 420 1948 EE+ the very first recordings to be made in Northern and Southern Rhodesia (today's Zambia and Zimbabwe) were produced by a Trutone field unit in 1948 and released bearing this distinctive 'elephant' label design. George Kaison is not Zulu but Ndebele - his ballad-like vocal style with vamped guitar accompaniment belies a definite US country influence but the songs seem to be based on indigenous melodies
BIDDERS PLEASE READ! These records must be shipped from South Africa so eBay's standard $4.00 postal rate applicable to internal North American shipments does not apply. (The eBay template requires that a shipping fee of no more than $4.00 be entered so I have complied, but common sense should tell you that it costs more to ship a record 10,000 miles from the southern end of the African continent to, say, Chicago than it will from Des Moines.) SO, DO NOT SEND MONEY UNTIL YOU RECEIVE AN INVOICE REFLECTING THE ACTUAL COST OF POSTAGE ! I can ship to any location from Albania to Zimbabwe.
