Description

This is a early single-sided Zonophone 7-inch record No. 12940 "The Hieland Laddie" bagpipe solo by Pipe Major Henry Forsyth, 2nd Regiment of the Scots Guards.  Embossed back.  Hieland is an alternative spelling of highland in Scotland.  Forsyth later became "Piper To The Sovereign" and served three monarchs from 1910 until 1941.  Among his duties was acting as the King's alarm clock, playing underneath his window every morning at 8 AM and playing while marching around the dining room table at the start of dinner.

I am continuing to sell my 30 year collection of phonographs, parts, accessories, and records, so please bookmark me.  All items are sent via Priority Mail with insurance and am happy to combine shipping.
