Während der letzten Jahre hat sich diese ULTRA RARE 7“ Vinyl Single zu einer der am meisten gesuchten 45rpm Singles der Northern Soul, New Generation R & B und Funk Szene entwickelt. "Zu Zu Man" ist eine wunderbare, floorfilling ,Uptempo-Tanznummer. Auch die Rückseite ist toll. Und natürlich ist diese ultra rare Platte, auch auf Grund ihrer Seltenheit, ein absolutes Highlight einer Vinyl Singlesammlung. Ich habe auch den Eindruck das in diesem Fall die, wie hier angeboten, reguläre Pressung der Single seltener ist, als die Promotion Pressungen mit dem weißen Label, die anscheinend häufiger aufgetaucht sind.
Zu Zu Blues Band war ein Projekt von Dr. John / Mac Rebennack. Er spielte die meisten der Instrumente und Jessie Hill übernahm den Gesang auf der A-Seite.
Diese Single ist in sehr gutem Zustand und kann mit ruhigem Gewissen als Very Good + / Exellent – eingestuft werden. Sie hat keine hörbaren Kratzer, außer beim Ausblenden des Songs “Side Show“ auf der B-Seite, ist auf den letzten Zehntelsekunden ein leiser Kratzer hörbar. Bei den hohen Tönen ist ein leichter Klirrfaktor vorhanden, der aber hauptsächlich beim hören mit Kopfhören bemerkbar macht. Inwieweit das von vornherein vorhanden war oder durch häufigeres Abspielen entstanden sein könnte, ist schwer zu sagen. Auch optisch ist der Single sehr gut erhalten und außer den feinen Spuren, die durch herausziehen aus dem Papier-Sleeve entstanden sind und dem sehr kleinen Kratzer auf der B-Seite ist die Oberflache fast perfekt. Als ich die Single gekauft habe, war sie in einem weißen Paper-Sleeve, ohne Aufdruck. Das A&M Label-Sleeve habe ich in den 70’s bekommen. Ich weiß also nicht ob dieses Sleeve Design schon 1966 genutzt wurde.

During the last few years has developed this ULTRA RARE 7 " vinyl single as one of the most sought 45rpm singles of the Northern Soul , New generation R&B and Funk scene. " Zu Zu Man" is a wonderful , floorfilling , uptempo dance number . The flip-Side is also great . And of course, this ultra rare vinyl disk is an absolute highlight for a rarity single collection . I have the impression that the regular single pressing offered in this case, as here, is more rare than the promotional pressings with the white Label, that have apparently surfaced frequently.
Zu Zu Blues Band was a project by Dr. John / Mac Rebennack . He played most of the instruments and Jessie Hill took over the vocals on the A side .
This single is in very good condition and can with a clear conscience as Very Good + / Exellent - be classified . It has no audible scratches, except by the fadeout of the song "Side show " on the B-side , a gentle scratch can be heard on the last tenth of seconds . In the high notes a slight distortion is present, but mainly makes while listening with head Listen noticeable . To what extent was present from the outset or may be caused by frequent play, is hard to say. Even the look of the single is very well preserved and fine except for the tracks that are caused by the pull out of the paper sleeve and the very small scratch on the B - side is the surface almost perfect. When I bought the single, it was in a white paper sleeve, without imprint. The A & M label-sleeve I got in the 70's. So I do not know if this sleeve design was already used in 1966.
