Another entry in the mega-rare lp series put out by the venerable Warsaw Autumn festival showcasing avant garde works by little-known Polish composers; this one has 2 works premiered at the 1986 festival. Kotonski's electronic piece combines prerecorded sounds with live synthesizer and is performed by the composer (on what sounds like a DX-7 or Synclavier or some other FM synth), while Krauze's work features the composer on piano.

Kotonski worked at the early electronic music studio of Polish Radio in Warsaw where he is credited with creating Poland's first electronic music (preceeding Arne Nordheim and Bohdan Mazurek's work at the same studio). Krauze is a composer and pianist who studied with Kazimierz Sikorski, Nadia Boulanger, and Wanda Wilkomirska, played with Otomo Yoshihide, Chris Cutler, Paul Zukofsky, and Ernest Bour, founded the Music Workshop ensemble, and worked at IRCAM (at the invitation of Pierre Boulez), ISCM, and the Warsaw Autumn Festival; he is best known as a composer of "unistic music" (a Polish strain of early minimalism) and as a performer of avant garde Poilish composers like Boguslaw Schaeffer. Should be of interest to fans of experimental FM synth composers like Jon Appleton, Frank Zappa, Ragnar Grippe, and Michel Redolfi.
