MIKE HURLEY - "FIRST SONGS" LP
Should I have to name 5 acid-folk MASTERPIECES of ALL time…, I'll probably hesitate for the remaining four, but surely not for the inclusion of this one.
What kind of description I wonder, could someone lay down in order to communicate the content of this album… It's just a man and his guitar after all; pretty basic and largely overdone. True, isn't it?.. I think of Dylan who's done it too (and please excuse this following assertion), not HALF as good as Hurley… How Hurley kept recording after this one?, it's a mystery to me. But then again, "art" is nothing but a game & life moves forward…, "game" I say… What a peculiar game, this record is! It's a very dangerous game…; an agonising rite of self-exorcism, staged at the very far ends of human desperation, where sanity becomes an obsolete word.
Original US press on FOLKWAYS (FG 3581)/1965, with the booklet, in VG++ condition for the record (light clicks, shiny vinyl; Folkways isn't exactly famous for their pressings) and Excellent for the cover. Sorry for the "reserve", but this record doesn't exactly run the streets & it's my personal copy, which I've decided to "pass on". I had to do it at some point…

UK bidders can obviously pay for their items in £, at ($1.50=£1). All UK orders (via personal cheques or postal M.O) will be shipped promptly with no extra charges.

Payment with BIDPAY, US M.O. and US cashiers checks will be shipped immediately.
Personal checks in USD will delay shipment until they clear (approx. 10 working days). Cash in a registered letter accepted, but at the buyer’s risk.
For credit card payment, an extra 5% handling fee (VISA/MASTER) and 6%(AMEX) will be added to the total amount. For the other forms of payment e.g., US M.O, US cashiers checks and Personal checks in USD ($), an extra of $2.50 handling fee will be added to the total. In both cases, this money goes into bank commissions. (Most unfortunate, but can’t do differently as I am not a full time dealer and I've tried to include those forms of payment mostly for your convenience).
