Description
This is a very good original copy of the first pressing of the album on the yellow and black Parlophone label. It has the -1 -1 matrix numbers of the ‘Loud Cut’ pressing and is an excellent listening copy. I am only selling this copy after obtaining an upgraded copy of the Loud Cut that is close to near mint.
CONDITION
I use the Record Collector grading categories and have play graded the vinyl on a Linn LP12. My records have been stored in a pet free, smoke free home.
Sleeve: Very Good
The fully laminated sleeve shows signs of wear but no significant damage. There is some creasing to the laminate and wear at the edges and corners (see photos). The pinched spine is undamaged with all text clear. The flipbacks are intact. There are no splits or tears and no staining. There is a name written on the rear. The EMI inner has some age browning.
Vinyl: Very Good+
The record plays well with no sticking, jumping or long repeat clicks. There is no significant distortion and just a little crackle between tracks. There are visible scratches in tracks 3 and 4 on side 1 (see photo) but these are non feelable and do not affect play. There are a couple of clicks at the end of ‘Michelle’ just before the run off.
The labels have the sans serif font found on early issues. Please note that the labels appear to have been ‘rubbed’ by a previous owner (perhaps to make the text stand out more in photos?) and this can be seen in my photos. It was like this when I purchased the record in 2008.
POSTAGE AND PACKAGING
The record will be packed in a record mailer with stiffener and posted 2nd class signed for. I remove all records from outer and printed inner sleeves before packing to avoid damage to covers during transit. All albums are dispatched in polythene sleeves.
