THE BEATLES
Title : Rubber Soul Label : Parlophone Cat No : PMC 1267
Matrix : YEX 579-1 / 580-1 Mothers Stampers : 2 PD / 1 RM KT tax code on side one Issue : UK Mono 1st Loud Cut Press
This is the rare UK 1st Press of 'Rubber Soul' by The Beatles. This Mono 1st press Loud Cut mix can be identified by the Mono 1/1 matrix and it features a far bolder sound and deeper grooves than the standard later press. The Parlophone labels are yellow and black with a KT tax code on Side 1 and it is complete with the very earliest 'patents pending' Garrod & Lofthouse laminated flipback sleeve.
The record is in Excellent condition. The vinyl has a high gloss, it has a number of extremely light hairs. On the turntable the record lies completely flat. When played there are some little pops but it is still warm, the vocals are sharp and it still plays through extremely well. The yellow and black Parlophone labels are completely clean. The black is bold, and the yellow is very bright. The silver text is sharp and there is some little spindle wear.
The earliest Garrod & Lofthouse flipback laminated sleeve is in Very Good condition. The laminate has a bright shine. The image is clear and the colours still have a bold original finish. There is some corner and opening edge wear and a couple of laminate creases. The back has some discolouration but is still bright with sharp text and unworn pictures, only a pen written little name (steve e. williams). The flipbacks are complete, still sealed and very clean. The spine is firm with clear text and the whole sleeve is still solid.
