Description
This is an absolute megarare original UK LP issue from 1969 on the blue/black Pye label. it is by the UK prog/psych group blonde on blonde and is titled "contrasts". the cover is a laminated gatefold flip back inside opening. because this LP is so very very rare i will go into a lot of detail about its condition, but its in pretty good condition. the disc is very shiny on both sides, it has no warps or pressing flaws or marks from the inner sleeve. it has on side 1 two entirely superficial surface marks, i guarantee these do not sound [having played the album] and for all intents and purposes they can be totally discounted from a listening point of view. they cannot be felt as they are too superficial and too slight in width, you can only really see them when you hold the LP against the light. On side 2 at the beginning of track 4 there is for a couple of seconds some pops from a small scratch along the groove, it does not jump or skip, just a brief couple of pops for a couple of seconds thats all. so thats the condition of the LP, its a great listening experience all the way through and it would be graded as excellent except for the niggles just mentioned. the labels are totally unmarked, no writing ,no tears etc they look like new. the garrod & lofthouse cover is the very thin and flimsy design which if you ever come accross a copy are normally trashed as they do not store well and are very easy to crease and tear. this copy is intact. i will describe it's minor flaws now. the front cover has a edgewear from age and a few minor creases, the back cover has a few light creases. the spine at the top and bottom has some wear for half a centimetre each, there is no other wear on the spine and all the wording on the spine is intact. the cover has no lamiinate missing except for a couple of very very minor bits at a couple of the corners. if you have ever seen a copy of this album you would appreciate even with the niggles mentioned how good the condition of this LP is in comparison. the music is very varied, from psych with indian influences to rock to prog and never less than very very interesting. its a stereo issue cat no NSPL 18288. the cover is a beautiful back view of a nude with a spider on her bum.
