Condition Record: VG to VG- the disc is covered with fine surface marks. A few bigger scuffs on track 1 side 1 (see scan) produce a crackling sound during this track. This disc generally plays well throughout without skips or jumps but with surface noise. Still a fine listening experience if one considers the rarity of these recordings. MP3 upon your request
Condition Cover: VG two small tears on the front and ring wear. Please see scan.
Remark: a very rare EP by two members of the Drakensberg Boys Choir.
This record is a tribute to a young Western Transvaal boy who captured the hearts of music critics and the public of South Africa with his glorious voice. On the cover he is seen with Derek Pullen, for Derek often shared the limelight with him. Two voices so different in timbre, yet blending beautifully with a masterly dexterity achieved through the rigid training of the Director of Music at the Drakensberg Boys Choir School -Edward Aitchison.Just before Gehrard's voice 'broke' the SA Broadcasting Corporation made this recording in the choir school hall in the Drakensberg Mountains, South Africa.
