original strata east play grades m-, sleeve a well preserved m- in shrink wrap, slight right corner bumps. madly hip big band music from the great music inc, core group of course being charles tolliver, stanley cowell, jimmy hopps & cecil mcbee. large ensemble includes richard williams, jimmy heath, clifford jordan, howard johnson & many other familiar strata east cats. tolliver & cowell wrote all the pieces & take all the solos on this date, seriously strong & high-spirited music. this band & label was a true force.
