Description
here is a RARE ARTIST SOUND-WORK by artist christian marclay from 1989 RecRec Music / Shedhalle. Boxed Artist Multiple, one of 1,000 unsigned copies. Included is a 12 inch, 33rpm vinyl record, a 24" x 36" offset color poster, an artist's postcard and introduction sheet, all housed in the publisher's original box. The single sided record - featuring sounds of footsteps - was installed by Marclay on the floors of Shedhalle's Gallery Space for two weeks in 1989 and were walked upon as part of the show (augmenting the recording with the resulting damage to the discs) The sound side of the record exhibits various scuffs and the blank side shows tape remnants from where it was affixed to the floor (thus, as issued).
fluxus broken music avant-gard sound art etc. this one is RARE. the clamshell box is in nice condition. the cover panel is clean, some of the sides have light wear.
has the description loose page, the postcard, the LP and the poster which is really nice.
the record - of course, - has wear and dust - as it was walked over for several weeks.
the inserts are in great shape.
CONDITION: the poster has no flaws at all. since you seem to be super picky, so i want to detail this completely. first - i bought this in the original cello, and all the flaws on the clamshell most likely happened during packaging. the postcard does have dings on each corner - two more noticeable than the other two which are minor. as you can see there are some white lines or spots on the sides of the lid. the poster has no flaws. the bottom of the box also has a few white defects, but are mostly minor, as they were covered by the lid. there is one ding on the bottom lid that goes all the way through - it looks like it got bent at some point it too is very minor. bear in mind this was sold with the contents banging around inside the box, which is common with this release. happy to answer any other questions, appreciate you looking at record.
