ATLANTIC 1st PRESS1311 Matrix no's : 11637-A / 11638-A
Visually the vinyl retains excellent sheen and under bright light there are lots of visible marks, both hairlines and also other more noticeable marks and blemishes.
Playback is graded a strong VERY GOOD PLUS - plays well and is certainly an enjoyable listen. However there are a few quieter parts and in these there is some surface noise audible but really nothing too distracting and is a classic early COLTRANE recording. The RED and PURPLE ATLANTIC record labels with WHITE FAN LOGO are EXCELLENT - beautiful with minimal visible spindle wear.
The thick card FRONT LAMINATED PICTURE sleeve visually looks really good and overall there is not too much wear but the bottom seam has a 25cm split along from the opening and there is some clear tape in places - eg along the top where there is no split and a sticker removal mark front top right. The white card back is discoloured and has a small price tag stuck on back top left and some spine rub to top and bottom corners but still remains 60% legible.
All in all a great copy of an early and great, rare COLTRANE Lp.
