Rare indie work from the San Francisco scene at the start of the 80s -- a group who hit equally well on bass-heavy funk numbers as they do on mellower harmony soul! The album starts with almost a Bootsy Collins sort of groove -- very upbeat and strutting, with a bit of electricity in the overall production. But as things roll on, the group slows up a bit nicely -- and hits some great ballads that show a whole new side of their talents -- almost an east coast early 70s sort of soul style at the best points. The set closes with a bit more electro funk -- making things come full circle -- and titles include "Tight Squeeze", "Let's Party", "Star Rise", "Young Girl", and "Last Night".
