DESCRIPTION:
A HOLY GRAIL of an album! This IS one of the BEST german FUNK / JAZZ / PSYCHADELIC albums of all time. Quite similar to the sound of the famous group NIAGARA this LP is at least as rare as both NIAGARA albums. This lp has everything, from FUNK cuts with monster DRUM & BASS BREAKBEATS to psychadelic LATIN-JAZZ flavors (or whatever you call it). There are SOOOO many KILLER tracks on it which are worth a listen.

SIDE 1 is totally a WINNER for all BEATHEADS out there! DRUM BEATS/BREAKS galore with rumbling BASSLINES! My favourite tune on this side is "SITAR BEAT"! The DRUMS are sooooo amazing, and the SITAR player is going crazy! (Did you know, the Sitar is played by no one else than SIEGFRIED SCHWAB, who is well known for his appearances on several german LIBRARY lps!). Another outstanding cut is "BACK IN THE DARK" which starts with a monster DRUM BREAK! But check the whole song, the BASS, the GUITAR, the HORNS. the production is INCREDIBLE!! "SLURPIN'" is an uptempo KILLER SITAR tune which starts with a HEAVY DRUM & BASS break. Then it develops into a psychadelic FUNK groove, in a mood between ANANDA SHANKAR and KEITH MANSFIELD. Even the BRASIL / LATIN collectors will love this LP, "BRAZILIAN THOROUGHFARE" is probably one of the BEST german BRASIL tracks ever made! In my opinion it is similar to the music of LOS BRASILIOS. If you agree or not, it is definately an outstanding composition! Last but not least, the cut which is closest to the psychadelic jazz-rock-funk sounds of NIAGARA which lasts for more than 15 minutes is "SAHARA". Hard to describe, just wonderful! Check the soundfile!

So here you have it! A fantastic double-album which has it all, a fantastic choice of FUNK, BRASIL, JAZZ and (KRAUT-)ROCK tracks done by the great KLAUS DOLDINGER, one of Germany's most important jazz musicians in the 20th Century.

This double LP is very scarce, even here in Germany. It seldom turns up if ever, mostly in not so good condition.
