Italy-based funkateers 'The African People' only ever recorded one album in Milan in 1971 with several track also being released on 45. its group members were: Taetos Jaey (bass), Ren Symbol (organ & vibes), Winston Delandro (lead guitar), Winston Alwyn (guitar), Mervin Jay (drums) and Ron Bartled (percussion) and relatively unknown and mega scare album even in Italy, it contains uncompromising psychedelic Afro Rock all the way: heavy assaults on fuzz guitar and wah-wah are backed by a tight funky rhythm section in great form. the group's vocal performance is amazing, almost screaming and supplied by distorted guitar singing along with in the background. featuring at least 6 killer tracks: 'Stop Pushing', 'Woman', 'Movin' On', 'Michigan Harry Slaughter', 'On The March' & 'Can't Always Be Right'. (Polydor 1973/ LP)
