Description

A rare first pressing Lp, this is KENNY DORHAM and the Jazz Prophets, Vol. 1, ABC Paramount ABC 122, recorded April, 1956. Condition is average or better for it’s age. Cover is vg/vg+, no writing, 3” seam split at top opening. The front is laminated which is starting to crack in a few places, corners are bumped. The back is not laminated, with minor age and shelf wear. Labels have multiple spindle marks but no paper loss. Vinyl is visually vg/vg+ with light surface scratches and scuffs (one heavier scratch on side 1 which does not pop) and decent shine/luster. Plays VG+ or better. The music is surprisingly clear and clean. The value in the Goldmine Price Guide to Collectible Jazz Albums, 1949-1969 (1994 edition) is VG+ $30 NM $75. Reasonable starting price with no reserve.
