jimi hendrix electric ladyland track 1st pressing blue text large pics vgc/vgc

ultra rare mis print cover with hendrix pic backing up front cover

1st uk track pressing 613 008/9 a1/b1/a1/b1 naked ladies outer cover and blue text inside cover with large sepia coloured pics of noel redding and mitch mitchell - 1st pressing matrix's - side 1 backs side 4   side 2 backs side 3 - matt texture labels - correctly inverted cat no labels

this pressing with the blue text cover has always been regarded by collectors as the true first pressing version and not the later white text version (of which there are many many more)

matrix's   x = a crossed out figure or letter
side a  61300xx8 a//1               1    6
side d  61300x8   b//1              1    1
side b  61300x9ax//1                1    7         '9' and 'a' are hand scribed
side c  613009 b xxxxxxxxx//1   1   1           hand scribed with stamped matrix crossed out in part and incorporated in part into hand scribed matrix
there are no prefix's to the catalogue numbers
i've always assumed that the last two figures represent the mothers/stamps in which case all are 1st mothers and two are first stamps - pretty close to the studio sound?!!! - if i'm right in my assumption then this proves the much rarer blue text version is indeed the first pressing version as this copy contains two 1st stamps


This UK issue has no suffix to "Come On", "The" is prefixed to "Burning Of The Midnight Lamp" and "Cross Town" appears as two words.

cover is two seperate sheets of card with the inner faces glued to the internal flipbacks of the outer faces

This is an ultra rare production fault cover with Hendrix's picture backing up to the front cover side and not the back cover side on other 1st issues

cover - vgc - still a good solid cover but with a number of laminate creases and edgewear associated with this cover and a sticker removal mark top r/h side front cover see pics

inner sleeves - good - two poly lined inner sleeves one has a split to one side - they are mis matched one showing an 077 (july '67) date which is prior to release (could be old stock being used),the other one has text but is undated.

vinyls - vgc - super heavyweight - undamaged labels showing a moderate  number of spindle trails - nice full gloss surfaces with a number of stylus lines in keeping with its grading - plays through with a good full on sound and without any issues other than some crackle in quiet parts and the odd pop
