Interesting one for Zep collectors this is a "lemon song" Red Plum label credited to Page Bonham Plant and Jones on the Red Plum label
it's known that early Led Zeppelin albums came out mostly Red and Plum in UK to 1971 only so this is a rare 1st pressing very early find from 1969!
recorded mostly in USA whilst on Zeppelins much reported early mayhem tours of US the material here evolved on the road and is largely the sound of a band at work now settled personal wise Plant gets song credits on the label for 1st time as he is now considered "permanent."
The cover
The light brown colour was only used on the Album cover on 1969 early presses changing to a much deeper dark chocolate colour on thin card later known as "the brown bomber"
This original light brown one from 1969 has no writing stickers or tape! it has obvious circle wear on rear (see pics) but no rips, writing, stickers, tape or tears , doodles etc. overall good condition for a 46 year old cover,
the new reissues i have seen look like they will last about 46 days! so buy a pre litigation 1st press A2 B2 is as good as it gets on this classic album.
LITIGATION COPY!
The cover shows some age and wear being from 1969 with "lemon song"credits to Page etc. later changed to "Killin floor" on the label credited to Chester Burnett for fears of impending litigation.
Lemon Song was soon hastily removed completely from the labels on Peter Grants orders! So grab a copy while you can there can there be that many in good condition?
The later Killin floor 2nd and 3rd pressing copies on red plum can cost around £85 or more so for only a little more buy a pre litigation copy they can only get scarcer!
Investment value is pretty safe.

Incredible Audio quality from this 1st pressing from 1969!
This plays loud and undistorted then drops to a whisper, great stereo mix for 1969 Page got what he wanted here...
Later pressings sound different to us and this baby has it all!
There are some sleeve scuffs and light hairlines nothing that impedes playback, no jumps or sticks.
The record plays well with only surface noise in quiet places as it's a 46 year old record which a professional clean could help, no issues to affect play-ability and the sound is dynamic and punchy, we have listened on a rega 3 and prefer some of the early presses to the new re issues on sale for a princely sum !
Why not try a1969 early pre litigation press? Invest?....
labels are clean and bright deep colours with no writing or stickers on either side and moderate spindle wear
Matrix numbers are 588198 A2 and 588198-B2
Very interesting numbers place this one close to the masters.
