This album is from a massive collection put together by the current owner over 60 years with most albums hardly if ever played. The number of near mint and sealed is over 3000 and includes large numbers of Beatles, Beatles related albums and many other rare LPs.
A good proportion of the albums are pretty well mint and from the collection of well-known Bedfordshire photographer (M H)  Malcolm was eccentric in his researching and buying of vinyl and playing it perhaps only once (if at all) was part of his collecting obsession. Where a listing is marked "MH" it is likely the album is hardly if ever played. MH specialised in country and folk. He was meticulous about his collecting and many of the albums have copies of reviews and research he undertook.
The collection is very broad and currently owned by a keen audiophile. This is a private sale.
It includes the well-known rare albums from the 50's to 2015 and also once in a life-time opportunities for people who love analogue music including, as an example, a full set of NM Now Albums (35), a complete set of sealed ABBA studio albums and many other audiophile opportunities. 
All vinyl is tested on an SME 15 Deck and vinyl grading is based on a three-minute sample listening in the studio. I play before cleaning and there will be dust and static but all records will be cleaned on a Moth Pro before dispatch.

Grading

Mint – M

Both record and cover are in perfect condition. There will be no scuffs, surface marks, wear or any imperfections on the vinyl. Any additional items such as a booklet, insert, lyric sheet or poster are in perfect mint condition.  The record itself will mainly  have never been played and most likely will be still sealed. I have many sealed records and in such cases the vinyl will always be graded as M. 

Near Mint NM

A good proportion of my collection has hardly ever been played but is not sealed or obviously brand new. As far as possible, we sound test all records on a good system for about three minutes and if there are no visual marks and the sound is without any external interference (scratched, pops etc) we will grade as NM.

Covers and inserts must be almost faultless to achieve this grade (perhaps very minor corner wear or edge wear on older records)

Excellent – EX

The record shows light or minor signs of play and the playing surface will be clear of obvious marks. Any signs of play will be less easy to spot. There will be little or no  spindle wear.  There may be some light surface noise, particularly for records from the 70s and back but the sound will be full and clear to listen to.

There may be be very light foxing or browning to lighter sleeves Over say 40 years old.

The cover, packaging and additional items may have slight degree of wear, but not very noticeable.  The sleeve will have minimal signs of handling.  There may be very minor ringwear but hardly noticeable on covers over 30 years old.

Very Good Condition – VG

The record has been played regularly and has some visible surface marks, but no major deterioration in the quality of sound when played.  There may also be some evidence of regular playback in the form of spindle wear on the label.  Wear to cover, insert and additional items is likely to be present, but there will be no major defects.  These defects may come in the form of light ring wear, edge wear or corner wear or there may be some discolouration, or minor folds or creases.

Good – G

The record has been played a lot and will have many mild surface scratches and groove wear.  It will play through with no skips or jumps, but there will be some noticeable deterioration to the sound quality and listening experience.  This may be surface noise or clicks and pops during playback.  

The cover, insert and additional items may have some folding, ring wear, spine splits, tape repairs or scuffing to edges.  There may also be pen writing on the sleeve or record labels. .

Fair – F

The record still plays through, but visually it will have lots of scratches and audibly, very noticeable surface noise such as crackling, distortion, clicks and pops.  The sound quality will have significantly deteriorated and listening experience will likely be uncomfortable.  

The cover will be damaged, torn or stained. A record in fair condition is normally regarded as a collection-filler until a better copy comes along!

Poor - P

A record in poor condition will be cracked, warped or badly damaged to such an extent that it won't play through properly.  The sleeve will be very badly damaged.  It may be defaced, faded, heavily soiled, have seam splits, be ripped or torn and might be water damaged.  Poor records can actually damage a stylus so beware but they can be so rare as to be collectable as memorabilia.

Promotional Records 

I was a radio presenter for some years and I collected promotional records given by record companies and reps from friends around the world . Most of these are “Clipped” which to me was evidence of them being first pressings and most of my collection of promotional copies are still sealed as the vinyl was issued at a time that CD was taking over in broadcast studios. From an audiophile perspective these are great buys
