This record has been cleaned and played through completely both sides on a Thorens Turntable as well as visually inspected under a bright halogen desk lamp to provide an accurate grading.
LP’s are packed outside their covers to guard against ring-wear & splits during transit and then placed inside a plastic outer protective sleeve for safe delivery.

VINYL : terrific / some light marks however only surface scuffs which don’t effect play-back / no skips or pops / no lead in-out noise / plenty of shine throughout / a great clean sound / Rated EX+ easily.LABELS : clean
SLEEVE : superb / no writing or ring-wear / no splits and the spine is intact / a small crease at lower right corner however only very minor / no real age-wear marks and a real beauty
DESCRIPTION
An immaculate and mega-rare pressing of early 80’s Brisbane minimal-synth outfit Xero who had strong ties with The Go-Betweens.This was their only vinyl release (on the collectable M squared label) and my guess is that only around 300 copies were ever pressed. Even the labels here give the impression of this being a Limited Edition custom pressing with a camel stamp on the A-side while the B-side label is completely blank.
Recorded at Basement Studios, Roma Street (Brisbane) the line-up here is :
• Irena Luckus: vocals, Roland Jupiter 8 synth, guitar
• John-e Willsteed: vocals, keyboard, guitar, bass
• Steven Pritchard: drums
• Tony Childs: bass
Irena and John-e have been in many musical collaborations with other musicians since with Irena in Existential Experiment in the mid-1980s, then Airborne Toxic Event in 1990/91, as well as a few other acts. John-e went to live in Sydney, and played with The Go Betweens for a few years (1987–1989) while often playing in The Plug Uglies. John-e designed many hand-bills used to promote Xero gigs and the artwork on some of these is outstanding as evidenced here on the cover. He is now part of the highly regarded alt country band Disgraceland.
Later Go-Betweens drummer Lindy Morrison was an original member of Xero while Robert Forster and Claire McKenna also often guested with the band.
Apparently Xero was an incredibly cool band to have been involved with. The lineup changed quite a bit over the existence of the band with Irena the only member in each incarnation. John-e Willsteed joined the band early on, and remained until the end. Regarded as important part of the Brisbane Punk scene which developed in the late 1970's and early 1980's they played at every major venue at one time or another, often with a different spelling in Zero, Xiro etc. The band finally split when Irena went to live in Paris for a time though they did reform briefly for the 1986 Livid Festival.
This 12" rarely surfaces these days and is still thought of as groundbreaking and very hip at the time … to many a classic.
