this copy has the original BLUE labels with SILVER PRINTING as
well as the 'REEL + MIC' logos . . . labels also say "MICROGROOVE"
and "BILL GRAUER PRODUCTIONS INC. - NEW YORK CITY"

vinyl is thick and heavy and the DEEP GROOVE is on both sides + the
address on jacket is : 235 West 46th Street New York City 36, New York
and the back cover features liner notes  by JOE GOLDBERG . . .

an EXCELLENT CONDITION copy

has been PLAY TESTED - plays and sounds wonderful with only very
slight noise in just a few spots - and NO SKIPS on this record

the vinyl is shiny and clean with only slight wear - just light marks that do
not interfere with the sound, except that there are some slight pops for a brief period
during the song "some other time" - but in all, this lp plays and sounds great . . .

the labels are also clean and have no writing . . . the cover is also in
nice shape with NO seam splits, writing or markings and only slight wear
around the edges and slight ringwear

this is a very important JAZZ lp - it was recorded at the Village Vanguard
in 1961, shortly before the death of legendary bassist Scott LaFaro's . . . the trio
that played on this record was magical and full of the subtlty that EVANS is famous for

this is a very deep and textural sounding recording with beautiful interplay and a rhythmic intensity

during his tragically short life, Scott LaFaro quickly developed into one of the most advanced
bassists around, competing with Charlie Haden and Charles Mingus. He emphasized high notes, could
play with great speed, and his interplay with Bill Evans in their trio was mutually stimulating and influential

he toured with Chet Baker (1956-1957) and later joined the Bill Evans Trio in 1959 and, although
he would record with Ornette Coleman (including Free Jazz) and gig with Stan Getz, the bassist is best remembered for his association
with Evans, particularly their Village Vanguard recordings of 1961. the 25-year-old Scott LaFaro's death in a car accident shortly
after was a major shock to the jazz world . . .
