This set is a trilogy dedicated to the Blues' foundation of Rock and Roll. While numerous recording companies recorded important material, none of these companies contributed as much enduring material as Chess Records and (of course!) Sun Records. This box set contains a booklet by Mike Leadbitter along with superior photographs and relevant discography pertaining to the four LPs. The first LP (1947-1949) derives from the Aristocrat label and the last LP ends with a 1956 recording by Jimmy Rogers - Walking By Myself. This is truely an exceptional set.
The condition of the LPs is near mint (played only 1 time when they were copied onto tape.) The condition of the booklet is excellent. The condition of the box is very good with heavy wear around the edges.
** if you are a Blues collector, you will find we are putting hundreds of vintage blues LPs up for auction over the coming year. My husband is grudgingly downsizing his massive collection which he has acquired over the past 40 years and you should find these listings worth considering. Because he was the only owner of these LPs and he had too many to listen to, they were played very, very little and are all in excellent condition.
