The quality of playing on my turntable is mint-. Some background noise is caused by the transfer of this live tape recording to LPR recording steps, as the engineer team explains on the backcover text: 'The original recording was absolutely uncut taken to pressing, in order to give the impression of the live concerto. Only the applause was shortened.' It was a charity concerto in the city-church of Karlsruhe, Germany.
Hans Werner Henze (1926-2012) wrote the Sonata with the titles Tirsi, Mopso, Aristeo in 1977 for the violinist Jenny Abel. Here it is a record-world-premiere.
