The Residents "Kaw-Liga / Stars & Stripes Forever!" picture 7" single issued by Ralph Records (RZ 8621) in USA, 1986. First press on black vinyl limited to 28 copies only. ****** Rec:m- ****** Here is the real nightmare for Residents completists! Rare beyond any other Residents' edition, these copies were spread around the world by chance and never surfaced again. Just a little detail makes it different from the 'standard' picture edition... that tiny black circle all around the record which should be red instead... but you know how details are important! Because only the copies pressed on black wax are the original first edition of this Residents classic... and there were only 28 made! Here is the story (sure any of you Residents true fanatics knows about this already): the first 2000 picture singles of "Kaw-Liga" were pressed on transparent red vinyl, however the first 28 copies were mistakenly pressed on black vinyl. Any need to suggest how rare and impossible to find is this prescious gem? Sure you will not be offered again another chance to get it, your only chance to complete your Residents archive is now or never! Taken from the "Stars And Hank" album this is one of The Residents' most dazzling singles, a seamless combination of the Hank Williams song and Michael Jackson's "Billy Jean". This is probably the disc which had the most potential to take the music charts by storm (not that that's ever been The Residents' priority) but by 1986 MTV exposure seemed to be a mandatory requirement for hitsville and there was no money available to make another brilliant video like "Man's World".
