I recently acquired a large collection of musical entertainment paper ephemera from the collection of an independent promoter of bands and record labels in the S.F. Bay Area. Lots of interesting unique items, many publicity photos such as this some signed by the artists themselves. If you are into this sort of thing, PLEASE check my other and upcoming auctions. I will combine shipping for multiple purchases.
This is an authentic vintage 1968 publicity photo for SLY and THE FAMILY STONE. A scarce early image for this group. Attached to it is a press release describing some upcoming shows at the FILLMORE WEST that they would be performing along with the Steve Miller Band and Poco (who were so new they misspelled them as Pogo).This original photo has been sitting in a filing cabinet for the last 50 years. It is in excellent ARCHIVAL condition and suitable for framing.
