Description
Artist: ERNEST & D.L. ROCCO
Titles: Count Terry Devine / Moon Child
Condition: Looks VG+. Full gloss but has a few scuffs and small scratches. Plays with occasional ticks.
Strange 1984 release on Cleveland, Ohio's Del-Nita label. Seems to be a collaboration between Cleveland's Ernest & D.L. Rocco Blues Band and the 511 Jazz Ensemble, the latter made up of inmates at the Ohio Penitentiary in Columbus. The 511 Jazz Ensemble made a rare private press LP in 1971 that included a similarly titled "Counterry Bosa Davan". A couple of the members listed on the back cover of the LP were apparently still doing time when this single was done in 1984, most notably leader Logan Rollins, as they are called off by the vocalist while introducing the "511 Jazz Band from Columbus, O-HI-O". Flip side is a soul ballad written by Cleveland guitarist Travis "Moonchild" Haddix, then a member of the Ernest & D.L. Rocco band. Haddix had been in an earlier Del-Nita label act, Chuck & The Tremblers.
