Paramount Records single-fold mail advertisement, ca. 1925
from paramountshome.org:
F. W. Boerner Company: Paramount Mail Orders
Fred Boerner and his brother-in-law Maurice Supper, who originally both worked for the New York Recording Laboratories in Grafton, found out that selling records became a profitable situation by 1924 for the New York Recording Laboratories. In that year the Wisconsin Chair Company had a lease agreement with Harry Pace’s Black Swan Records to use the metal masters for a special block of Paramount issues in their Paramount 12000 series. On 31 January 1925 Fred Boerner, Maurice Supper and his wife Viola Boerner-Supper formed the F. W. Boerner Company, a mail order business.
These two pieces (really two halves of one folded piece) were discovered below the working parts of an old phonograph, and have been completely stained with machine oil over many decades. They are in the condition depicted in the scans. The lighter scan is artificially contrasted to show the graphic better. If they had not been "lost" in this way for so long, they probably would not have survived at all...
Each half is 4x7 inches, so the original opened size was 8x7 inches. There is the remains of a stamp used to seal the open edge. Whatever address label was on the blank area is long gone.
It may be possible to restore these substantially, but probably not completely. A good paper conservator would likely employ some combination of surfactant and enzyme depending on the assessment of the paper composition and printing method.
