 Nice! Super clean original 1976 Mercury Records (USA) issue (#SRM-1-1090) LP from pioneers The Runaways in Excellent condition in gatefold sleeve and with insert !!



Features Joan Jett, Cherie Currie, Lita Ford, Sandy West and Jackie Fox




Note: There is a "punch-hole" in the top right-hand corner (that goes through the inner sleeve and insert as well). In this case, that is the indication that this was a promotional copy given by the label gratis to a music industry person (as a opposed to a "cut-out").  There were some 'cut-outs' of this record (before it was re-issued by Mercury in the 1980's, minus the gatefold sleeve) but those records have the more traditional vertical clip/sawmark in the spine. The fact that this promo hole exists is further evidence that this is  a original first pressing LP.




This record has not seen that much handling... The gatefold sleeve has never even been fully extended!  It still has resistance when you open it. Super crisp insert, probably almost never touched. Slight surface lines on the cover, and slight ring-wear on the back, and a bit of corner wear, but in unusally nice condition compared to most surviving original copies. Not much play evident in the vinyl either!

Also of note, Lisa Fancher (then of Bomp Magazine) who wrote the liner notes on the insert, went on to have her very own record label (Frontier Records) and released the classic first LPs by Los Angeles Punk bands like The Circle Jerks and Suicidal Tendencies !!
