This auction is for a rare and coveted first pressing of the UK Parlophone LP The Beatles Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band in Stereo.
Based on my research, this is a first pressing and includes “SOLD IN U.K. …” on LP labels.
The LP is in VG+ condition with fine, un-feelable scuffs from taking in and out of sleeve. Lots of glossy surface. There is one small scratch on a portion of the second song on side one. It is approximately 3/4” long. It is mostly sideways so it does not last long. On my inexpensive turntable the scratch pops but only skips 2 times, missing one or two lyrics. The rest of the album has minimal background noise between songs only. I don’t know what it is about these original Parlophone LP’s, but the sound quality of this album is spectacular!
The LP jacket is in VG++/NM- condition with original price sticker in upper right hand corner. (Glare from light not a flaw in photo#2) Also, color is same on both sides of inside gatefold. In photo light is coming from one side only so it appears color is different on each side. It is not.
The original inner sleeve is in VG++/NM- condition; and the cutouts insert is in NM/MINT condition.
