The record is sold in a white cardboard cover (i.e. no company sleeve). Please look carefully at the description & photos before offering to buy, as whilst my description is correct to my knowledge, accuracy cannot be guaranteed, particularly the information printed on bootleg records.  Like many Northern Soul records,  artists names on the label were sometimes pseudonyms. Sometimes a DJ would 'cover up' the name of the real artists to ensure other DJ's couldn't find & play the record.

This record first appeared on Alberto Fossati & Oscar Prudenti, 1973 LP, Poco Prima Dell’Aurora, with a  working title, “Theme Of The Wolf”. Sounding part soundtrack & part jazz funk, it's incredible percussion & funky guitar licks led to it becoming a very popular crossover record. With the US Disco scene in mind, Roulette Records picked it up in 1975, anglicised the artist name to the Al Foster Band, whilst maintain the writers credits, which they misspelt Essati & Prudente. The record became a Northern Soul anthem at the legendary Cleethorpes Pier venue.

The vinyl is in VG/G condition as defined by Record Collector Magazinegradings.

Northern Soul grew out ofthe 60s mod scene. After 1967 soul music lost influence to physchedelia, funketc in the South, which was not so in the North. In 1970, David Godin coined the phrase Northern Soul, whenwhilst working in a London record shop Northern Mods bought obscure, fast temposoul, for playing at Northern venues such as Manchester's Twisted Wheel
