Description
This is the Real Thing folks: the first Rolling Stones single released in the US in 1964, which was immediately withdrawn from the market. As Roy Carr put it in his book "The Rolling Stones An Illustrated Record," "though initially planned as the Rolling Stones' first American release (London 9641), pressures were brought about to have it withdrawn instantly on moral grounds and 'Not Fade Away' was substituted for the offending "Stoned.""
I've owned this record since 1968, and I've always treated it like a baby. It has not been played for decades.
Most of the markings on the labels were there when I bought the record.
Bill Wyman signed the "I Wanna Be Your Man" side when I encountered him several years ago, when he was promoting his autobiography. He said he'd never seen the release before..and even though I asked him to sign the sleeve, he signed the label. C'est la vie.
Included in the purchase price: a FAKE (I repeat, fake) sleeve for the record, which I purchased several years ago on eBay. I figure if you're buying the record, you might as well have the sleeve too.
The insurance costs are T-B-D, depending on the amount of protection you want for the package.
