Description

sealed WHAT'S SHAKIN, Elektra LP • Butterfield, Eric Clapton, Al Kooper, Winwood, Jack Bruce • ORIGINAL NOT A REISSUE     Auction Details Contents: WHAT'S SHAKIN' LP: Butterfield Blues Band, Eric Clapton, Al Kooper, Steve Winwood, Jack Bruce, plus — FACTORY SEALED
• Elektra EKS-74002 — early made in USA Elektra stereo LP likely pressed in the late 1960's
• THIS IS AN ORIGNAL NOT A RECENT REISSUE VERSION OF THIS CULT CLASSIC LP Info: Unlike most compilations, this album does not contain immature performances by unknowns who had since become famous. Instead, this album's performances are classics in their own right. And this album features rave-up recordings by some of the best & most influential rock & blues artists of the 1960's and thereafter. This is the classic Paul Butterfield Blues Band lineup from the time of their 1st LP that included Mike Bloomfield, Elvin Bishop & Howlin' Wolf's rhythm section. Al Kooper plays a different version of his killer I Can't Keep from Crying that might better his later Blues Project version. Eric Clapton & the Powerhouse, which includes Steve Winwood & Jack Bruce, was a short-lived group formed to record for this LP. Eric's 3 cuts were recorded in the same month John Mayall & Clapton recorded their iconic Bluesbreakers album. Bluesy rock tunes recorded early in the career of The Lovin' Spoonful & a cut by Tom Rush round out the LP. Condition: This factory sealed LP is in as new MINT condition. The sealed cover is quite clean with a small corner bump. OFF WHITE ALBUM COVER: The yellowish-off-white background color on the album cover (see photos) is the color used on early issues of this album—this is not yellowing from age. Whereas ebay cover photos that have white backgrounds are contemporary reissues or else the photos were edited to appear white. Pressing
Details:
The auctioned LP is an early Elektra pressing. Per Goldmine, Elektra released the mono & stereo versions of this album in 1966. Due to low sales the album had a short production life which likely ceased in the 1960s or possibly early 1970s. Typical of LPs pressed at that time, the auctioned LP is not a flimsy flexible record; there is but little give while holding the sides of the cover & attempting to flex the album. T's & C's: Payment and Buyer Communications Terms & Conditions that pertain to this auctioned item along with details on LP Grading, Packaging, Return Policy, & International Shipping are detailed directly below. Terms & Conditions: Payment, Buyer Communications, Grading, Packaging, Returns, Non-USA Shipments Payment Terms & Buyer Email Communications PAYMENT: If Paypal is used payment must be received within 24 hours after auction closes or within 4 days when other payment options are used. BUYER EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS: Buyer must contact the Seller within 24 hours after the auction closes regardless of payment method. Grading Descriptions Follow the link to learn more about the grading used to describe the condition of LPs. Seller uses these grades: G, G+, VG, VG+, EX, EX+, NM-, NM, MINT (MINT=Sealed). NOTE: NM is the highest grade given to an album that is not sealed, indicating an LP visually appearing PRISTINE as new. MINT is reserved solely for factory sealed albums. LPs that have but a fingerprint or spindle mark grade less than NM. To determine visual grades, LPs are examined close to a bright halogen light which indicates flaws not noticeable in other lighting conditions. Packaging

Albums ship properly packaged: (1) Album covers are insulated to prevent them from being scratched or scuffed while in transit. (2) Used albums are "re-sealed" to prevent record movement. This prevents seam damage to album covers & eliminates friction induced scratches/scuffing that can occur when an LP is shipped outside its album cover. (3) For albums with fragile covers the LP is removed & inserted into a Seller supplied cover & "re-sealed" which insulates the LP & prevents damage to the fragile cover. (4) LPs within box sets are insulated to prevent their movement while in transit. (5) Odd-sized box sets that do not fit into LP mailers ship double boxed. Return Policy Feedback from Buyers mentions I grade conservatively, though grading LPs is an inexact science exacerbated by the different & vague grading systems used by online Sellers. Should a purchased LP differ reasonably from this Seller’s stated condition a refund solely for the cost of the LP will be made upon its return. The Seller’s stated condition will be described within the ad's Condition section & in the Grading Descriptions section within the ad's Terms & Conditions. All returns need to be requested within 14 days after the Seller shipped the LP, and the LP must return to the Seller in a reasonably timely manner & in the same condition as when the Seller shipped it. SEALED ALBUMS: A refund for the cost of a sealed LP will be made ONLY IF the album was not opened & returns to the Seller in Mint sealed condition. Non-USA Buyers (1) The post office mandates non-USA shipments greater than $400 or over 4 pounds use Priority or Express Mail. (2) Seller only ships to international destinations covered by his insurance carrier. As the carrier can change their coverage at any time the Seller reserves the right to cancel a sale should the destination country not be eligible for insurance coverage. Please email should you wish to determine current eligibility for your country. (3) Due to postal issues, shipments to Mexico, Italy, India, & Malaysia must ship via Express Mail International. Reduce Shipping Costs Will ship multiple auction wins from any current auction in one package whenever possible. If interested, please email your intent to bid on other auctions prior to the closing date of your initial auction win.
