Originally The Little People from Hertfordshire formed in 1965
and played around doing covers of American Rhythm n Blues

     After playing with The Small Faces Steve Marriott
became their mentor and persuaded Andrew Loog Oldham
to sign them to Immediate Records and change their name

Steve wanted to call them The Nice but Oldham refused giving
it to Keith Emerson and labled them with The Apostolic Intervention
Marriott and Lane did give them a song and they made a fair job of it
being described as the strongest debut of any act on the label but
 they were unable to break through to the bigger league
Later the drummer who was pretty darn good joined Marriott in
HUMBLE PIE
