THE BEATLES - Ain't She Sweet / If You Love Me Baby (take out some insurance on me baby)
OZ Polydor single NH-52317 released July 1964
When the Beatles record sales went ballistic in Australia in early 1964,
and with the band due to tour mid year, Polydor who owned the rights
to the Hamburg recordings with Tony Sheridan issued some singles to cash in.
none were significant hits and are hence very hard to find. sweet features John
Lennon vocal, whilst if you love features tony Sheridan vocal. curiously Sheridan
sings "if you leave me baby" rather than "if you love me baby".
record is visually VG. Sweet plays nearly perfectly, there being 2 light pops
12 seconds in, and then 1 more light pop 1 &1/2 minutes in. Love me has 1
pop approx 30 seconds in.
record has the release date 10/07/64 written on both sides and
"JUL 1964" also on a side (see scan). Comes in original paper sleeve.
