Description
This is one of a reputed 1000 first pressing. Subsequent re-pressings had “People Unite” in black lettering. “The Ruts” written in red felt tip was present when it was bought in 1979 so supposedly written by someone on the production line. Still a great record, sounds great and is in very good condition. This particular original issue is very rare. Any questions welcomed.
I recently received a message from Tony B in New York regarding the writing on the cover. Apparently Pete Stennet who used to run Small Wonder Records in Walthamstow would put new releases on the wall with blu tack and write the band’s name on the sleeve with red felt tip. I bought the single from his shop so it all makes sense now. My thanks to Tony.
