Description
This auction is for a rare and hard to find 3 LP set from 1987 entitled “Elvira’s Halloween Party,” featuring songs from a large group of fantastic bands, including Ozzie Osbourne, the Doors, Santana, Kiss the Rolling Stones, AC/DC and many more.
This 3 LP set was promotional and sent to member radio stations only in 1987, and never available to the public for purchase.
All of the songs have some sort of scary or other Halloween-related sound/lyrics to them. A few classics are on here too such as Monster Mash, I put a Spell on You, Werewolves of London and more.
When I recently purchased this set, I immediately took it home and listened to it. The sound quality is very good as you might expect, since this set was sent to radio stations to be aired on Halloween. In between some songs you get to listen to Elvira, who was quite funny and lewd at times. The show also features some great vintage commercials for Coors beer, the U.S. Army and more.
I believe the LP’s were made for MCA Radio Network which then distributed them to member radio stations across the country.
The LP’s are all in excellent condition with little to no signs of wear. The only “issue” is that the LP’s have a slight warp to them. The warp is very slight, so much that I didn’t realize it until I put them on my turntable and noticed it. Because the warp is slight, it does not affect playback. In other words, my turntable arm never once skipped or had an issue with the unevenness. I cannot imagine there would be any problem on any turntable, no matter the budget. It’s slight! I do not have a record clamp. That might take all of the warp away.
Included in this auction is the original play list that came with LPs.
Collectors you know how rare and hard to find this set is! You would be hard-pressed to find a nicer one than this. Thank you.
