High Hopes features new, pro-JFK lyrics: "Jack's got...high hopes!", "Vote for Kennedy!", etc. The 45 is promo-only, sent to radio stations in states with crucial primaries. In pioneering 1960 documentary feature Primary the recording is heard during the segment on Kennedy's W.Va. campaign. The film's producers recorded this single as it played on a local AM station.
The Chairman Of The Board and The President had a falling-out after the election & Frank was barred from the White House. Sinatra was royally pissed & took a sledgehammer to the helipad he'd constructed at his Palm Springs home for JFK's Presidential chopper. But according to daughter Nancy, after Kennedy's assassination Frank Sinatra "cried for days."
