1898 BERLINER GRAMOPHONE 7” Record “FROM THE STATUE OF LIBERTY - ORATION"
Up for auction we have a pre-1900 7” Berliner Gramophone record. This selection is "From the Statue of Liberty - Oration" by Chauncey M. Depew. The recording date on the record is January 7, 1898 and has a record number of 694. Note: On the pressed label, "Liberty" is misspelled "Libery".
Record is in fair condition for its age. This record has a stress fracture across the width of the groove area that is visible more on the back of the record but can be seen on the front. I tested the record on my Victrola and, although you can hear an occasional tick among the normal background noise, the record did play through without skipping.
There are some light scratching and few pressing imperfections normally seen with these records are present. There is one imperfection at the top edge of the record but this imperfection does not extend into the groove area.

Returns will be accepted, within three days of item receipt, if buyer is not satisfied with the quality of the item purchased. Prior authorization must be obtained before any return. It is to be sent back with a tracking number. All items will be inspected upon return to verify it is the same item as shipped. Shipping and handling charges are not refundable. Feedback will be left after we know buyer has received and is satisfied with item.
