Low Numbered and Embossed Original 1968 U.S. LA pressing of The Beatles 'White Album' with low number A 1491644 and Crazy LOW matrix numbers, as this is one of the most coveted White Albums !! The matrix numbers are proof that this is the absolute very first pressing after George Harrison destroyed the previous recordings because he was appalled at the sound the day he walked into the LA plant. All matrix stamps B33 and earlier were to be destroyed.

In addition to the mega ultra rare matrix stamps, this is the rare and highly sought after pressing containing all 7 printing errors on the labels. Upon release of the album, John Lennon noticed these mistakes and had them corrected immediately on future pressings but not before some of these extremely rare error copies had already entered the marketplace. The records are still glossy and do show play with scratches and scuffs. With this being such an early pressing, it's completely understandable to show play after 52 years. The error labels are *PRISTINE MINT* with NO writing and NO stickers. The outer and inner spines are *Mint Pristine* and stunningly intact !! The cover is **MINT** with NO seam splits, NO taped seams, ZERO SEAM SPLITS. NO WRITING on the front, back or inside the sleeve !! The inner gatefold is stunning. The spindle holes are absolutely pristine and perfect. It will arrive with the original thick-stock EX/NM portrait photos and the original poster! The original inner sleeves are present, with the normal wear !!

Here's very invaluable information on how The Beatles White Albums were numbered, and the meaning behind all the sequences...

The first 25 White Albums were numbered with an “A” prefix and then a series of zeros preceding the number (e.g. A0000009). There are always seven digits following the “A” so if it was a single digit number it would be preceded by six zeroes or if it was a two digit number it would be preceded by five zeroes. It is not known what the “A” was indicative of (it may mean “printed in America” or “Apple” but neither is confirmed).

Numbers 26-99 were three digit numbers preceded with a zero and no prefix.

Numbers 100 through approximately 209,999 were preceded with the correct number of zeroes to make them a seven digit number (with no letter prefix)
Beginning around 210,000 to up near 590,000, they were preceded by a zero and had an 'A' prefix.

Later copies up to about 1,350,000 remain at seven digits using a leading zero if necessary and are prefixed with a large dot.

The next batch from 1,350,000 up to some point around 2,000,000 are prefixed with an “A” but it's a thinner “A” then used earlier.

From 2,000,000 to around 2,250,000 some are prefixed with a large dot and some with the “A”

From 2,250,000 up to 3,000,000 the numbers are prefixed with the abbreviation for number (i.e. “No.”). On some of these the “o” in “No.” is raised with the period below it instead of beside it, and some with a large 'A'.

For the final numbers over 3,000,000 the numbers are prefixed with a wide “A"
