Hello again, fellow 78 rpm buffs. The job hunt is not going well, so looks like I'm going to have to start selling off my record collection. I've been avidly collecting pre-WWII 78's for over twenty years, so be sure to check my other auctions for goodies. Shipping will be by either Media Rate or Priority Mail shipment (your choice) in the US (or Priority Mail Int'l for international shipment). Ebay mandates that sellers are responsible for insurance now, so insurance is included in the final auction value. And don't worry - I pack very well. Of course I will combine shipping in cases of multiple wins by one bidder, but we should communicate by e-mail first so I can send an accurate invoice rather than your using eBay's automated checkout. Also, I stand by my record grading, but if you are dissatisfied, you may return the record for a full refund of the final auction value. So, here we go with the next item up for bid;
BOB LEE JUNIOR BLUES / I PACKED MY SUITCASE, STARTED TO THE TRAIN: MEMPHIS JUG BAND, on E-/E-- Victor 21412, recorded 19 Oct. 1927 in Atlanta. You don't find too many records in yours and my genre here in Albuquerque, so I was thrilled enough to find this E- Memphis Jug Band in a trailer park here back in the early 90's to give the guy a hundred bucks for it. Jennie Clayton sings on both sides, joined by guitarist Will Shade on the second. Ben Ramey on kazoo and Vol Stevens round out the personnel on these laid-back sides. Playing surfaces retain most of their original gleam (many would probably call this an E+), with some trace, very light groove-greying in a few spots that doesn't seem to appreciably affect play; music plays strongly and clearly over light sizzle. Labels are in excellent condition. Docks' 6th Ed."E" value would be 100-150. I recently saw an E+ copy of this sell for $ 567 on eBay, but my reserve is much more reasonable than that.
