Description
"An Army Of Stars Salutes The Salvation Army At Christmas 1949" radio show transcription discs produced by The Salvation Army and recorded by RCA. One complete 30 minute radio program on these two 16 inch, one sided, vinyl, 33 1/3 rpm discs. These discs were issued to radio stations for broadcast only and not available to the general public, very rare!
This is an excellent Christmas program produced by The Salvation Army featuring many great opera singers with The San Francisco Opera Symphony
Songs include "Adeste Fidelis" by Lawrence Tibbett (excellent introduction by Tibbett as well), "Elsa's Dream From Lohengrin" by Kirsten Flagstad, "Silent Night" by Winifred Heidt, "The Song To The Evening Star From Tannhauser" by Set Svanholm, "O' Soave Fanciulla" with Jussi Bjoerling as Rodolpho and Licia Albanese as Mimi
Jean Hersholt reads "The Story Of The Nativity According To St. Luke"
Discs are in Excellent- condition with Excellent Sound, beautiful discs
