Oscar Pettiford Vol.2 featuriong an octet starring Gigi Gryce, Bob Brookmeyer, Ernie Royal and Donald Byrd. Osie Johnson on drums. Lovely varied front line on modern for the time, mainly written by the band tunes. This is a stone classic hard bop lp.
1st anywhere in Europe issue on earliest Crimson and Silver deep grooved London American (a legendary UK Decca Jazz subsidiary label). Near mint record in an VG++ sleeve (front top corner chipped nearly an inch as seen) plays near mint in great sound on a good mono cart, excellent on a stereo cart.
