Only 2 copies of this in the last 15 years on ebay, both lesser condition. That is what rare means, no?. 1958 Benny Carter Septet Jazz Giant UK CONTEMPORARY VOGUE LAC 12188, pressed by English Decca. This means superior vinyl and the outstanding engineering of Roy DuNann, who I can assure you was every bit the equal of Rudy van Gelder. Includes Barney Kessell, Leroy Vinnegar, Ben Webster, Frank Rossolino. It's a cracking pair of sessions from 1957 and 1958. West coast merging in to early soul jazz soundscape. Note the lack of wear around the spindle holes in the hi res pics. Flip back are intact and secure as from new, labels are deep grooved. Excellent LP in an excellent sleeve. Plays Excellent in big valve mono sound. Just one small mark and a tiny sticker on label. Note I have the matching 1962 Definitions and the Further Definitions lps on 1st HMV labels as well in my list. Just go to our ebay store and hit the jazz section on the side bar.
