Description
For your consideration is this rare and exceptional 78 rpm record produced by the rhythm & blues artists Tarheel Slim and Little Ann on the Fire label in 1959. The a) side is Much Too Late and the b) side is Lock Me in Your Heart. Visually it grades to at least a C9:N- condition - I lack the means to play it, but there is no sign that it was ever played. For instance, there is no bruising around the spindle hole, which can occur when the spindle is missed when placing the record on the player, and the record could not be brighter and shinier.
Note: I recently acquired a small collection of mostly R&B 78's from the late 1950's, almost all of which are in C9:N- or better condition condition. The seller could not explain why they are in such exceptional condition, just that they were in her family, but I suspect that the family upgraded to a 45 rpm record player right when these records were purchased, and thus they never got played.
